Book Displays
You'll find books on display all over the LMTC. Sometimes they are on top of bookshelves, or on special display racks. You are always welcome and encouraged to take any book you see on display. Nothing makes us happier than checking out a book we've spotlighted.
We create book displays around Library of Congress designated months, district Social/Emotional Learning themes, Read Across America monthly themes, district-recognized observances, curricular themes, fiction genres, and student interests.

Ebooks
The WMS LMTC has an electronic book (ebook) collection. If you are looking for electronic books, consider these options:
|
Audiobooks
Streaming Follett Audiobooks: We have a large selection of streaming audiobooks. Visit Destiny Discover and log in with your Destiny username (student ID number) & computer password to listen online through your web browser.
Playaway Audiobooks: The Middle School LMTC has over 80 audiobooks students can check out and take home. These audiobooks are called Playaways, and instead of coming on a CD or cassette, they come on their own self-contained digital audio player. Playaways look and act a little bit like an iPod or other music player, but their contents cannot be changed – each only plays the audiobook loaded onto it.
Each Playaway comes with a plastic case, a lanyard, and a spare battery. We ask that students use their own headphones or earbuds; students not owning headphones will be given a set of earbuds to keep. They circulate for three weeks, just like a regular library book, and we only allow students to check out one Playaway at a time. We remind students that, just as with any other items in their possession, they are not to use the Playaways to disrupt learning activities.
You can view a list of the Playaways available on Destiny, our library catalog. Click the Catalog tab. From there, a keyword search on the word Playaway will bring up the list, or go to the Visual Search page to find the list. We also have a print version of each of our Playaway titles for students who would like to listen and read at the same time.
